Wouldn't it be wonderful to know the journey through life that each of our classmates has traveled? One very popular feature of the blog is a series of pages containing biographical information about our classmates. Some of this information appeared originally in other parts of the blog, but was then copied and transferred onto a biography page. It will remain in both places as that information often relates to the previous or the following comments of others. Some biographical information was submitted directly by the person. Some was gleaned from comments and gathered together into this one spot to give us a more complete picture of that person. Some pages are accompanied by pictures, some do not YET have pictures - we're waiting for these!!!
You can check out the biographical information pages by scrolling down the right sidebar, past the links to Recent Comments and Recent Posts. The next thing you will see is the title "Click on Links to Biographies and Less Active Posts". Click on a name and read current information about that person. Take the time to leave a comment at the end of that biography. Then use the arrow back button at the top left of your computer screen to return to the main screen and choose another biography to read. Or scroll back up to the top of the blog and click on any other link in the right sidebar.
As for any post or comment, amendments are easy to make. Just e-mail me (Karla) with anything you want changed about your bio - additions, corrections, etc. Send me a photo (or MANY photos) via e-mail so I can add it/them to your bio page. And if your name does not yet appear in the list of biographical pages, then PLEASE send your info via a comment (which I will copy and paste to a bio page) or as an e-mail.

Posted by: Great Response | September 24, 2007 at 02:57 PM WOW!!! Today has seen the second highest number of page views - second only to the first full day the blog was viewed 11 weeks ago today!!! There have been 497 page views today, and we broke the 12,000 "total number of page views" mark. FYI: Each day for the blog is figured as ending and starting anew at midnight Greenwich Mean Time. For me in Waco that figures as 7:00 PM. See? This blog is both informative on a personal level and educational in general! It would be great if some of you came to this post (Biographies of Classmates) and left a comment after reading the biographies. It would ALSO be great if some of you would flesh out your own biography page as now posted, and others of you would submit information about your life in the past 47 years for the first time so I can start a page for you. (Gosh - 47 years sounds like a LONG time!!!) By the way, I am already adding more info and pictures to these existing bio pages - as I find other things embedded in blog comments from long ago, as I look at peoples' websites, and as folks send me new info and photos. So keep returning to previously read bio pages for updates! Anyway, looks like folks are excited to read biographical information about our classmates, so please keep the info coming. Either write it into a comment and I will retrieve it from there, or send it to me as an e-mail. With PHOTOS attached!!!!! Karla

To Melanie Winkler Morrison, Melanie, I just read your posting and was so sorry to hear about your bout with cancer. MDA is the best place in the world if you have to go. I have been there 13 years and will be going back on October 29 for cancinoma of the kidney. I am confident the doctor will take care of it and I will be up and about within a short period of time. The prayers of our classmates are so very, very special and keep me in state of peace that I cannot explain or understand, but certainly I thank the Good Lord for giving me the faith to face my life struggles. I will always remember you in my prayers now that I know. Please take care! Donna

Okay Karla, here is the bio you were waiting for. Please feel free to repair my sentence structure so as to make it easier to follow. I hope it will spur some input from others who have yet to jump on board with a comment. It certainly is not nearly as interesting as those that have predated this one. This is not going to be front page stuff here, as I have never been one to stand out in a crowd. I suppose I was a late bloomer if a bloomer at all. I was always more interested in what others had to say or do, their contributions and experiences. I am still that way today. I wait patiently to see new content here on the blog, what a venue ! As the second of four sons to graduate from Milby High School I represent a quarter decade of family history as Buffalos. Married in ‘ 64, 3 years and a baby daughter later, divorced. I still have a beautiful daughter today. Married to my soul mate Marilyn in ‘ 70, she had a son from a previous marriage and after our 1st year together we produced another son. I would tell people that when all the kids were together that my kid and her kid would beat the heck out of our kid. Our most precious tradition was holding a Christmas Eve gathering for my side of the family and on Christmas Day another gathering for her side of the family at our modest home in South Houston. That tradition started about ‘ 75 at which time I purchased an organ that Marilyn taught herself to play and in ‘ 78 I purchased a video camera just to record the great fun and sing-a-longs. We have tapes of family and friends dating from that time. I did upgrade to a battery operated color camcorder in ‘ 84. Technology is a wonderful thing. I have always been punctual, worked hard and tried to do the right thing. Retail clerk and manager for 7 years after High School, went to work for Hughes Tool Co. in Feb of ‘ 67, retired the end of May 2006. We have 3 beautiful grand-daughters, all born in April which is the Month of my Mothers birth as well. My daughter gave us 2, 17 and 15, and our youngest gave us 1 now 4 years old. I can entertain myself by just watching these little ones for hours. THEY ARE THE KEYS TO MY HAPPIEST MOMENTS ! My biggest challenge is creating enough joyous memories as to have the family traditions continue long after my demise. Mike

Karla, Sorry for the delay in posting my biographical information, but here goes. I am working for KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root) as Technical Director for PM/CM (Project Management/ Construction Management). I had planned to retire March 1, 2008, but was convinced to stay on 3 days a week. I'm enjoying the part-time position and am still doing a little traveling here and there. There is a possibility that we'll be heading to Australia for a month and are looking forward to that. Carole (a retired Realtor) and I have been married 31 years and have four children, six grandchildren (3-17), and one Shih Tzu puppy, Muffin. We live in our retirement home on the water in Livingston, Texas, and particularly enjoy boating and fishing. We're very involved in our church here, First Baptist Livingston, where I am a deacon. Webster's Definition: Renaissance Man - a person who has wide interests and is expert in several areas. I used that term to describe two of our classmates just yesterday. I could probably use the same term to refer to many more of our number, changing the gender as appropriate. Be sure to read Malcolm Sanford's and Thurburn Barker's bios clear through to the end, following all of the links and reading all of the comments. (Malcolm's last comment adds updated info.) FASCINATING MEN, FASCINATING READING!!! Karla

Karla, I tried to send an autobiographical sketch some time back, but it apparently never arrived. Now that we've added a couple more milestones, I'd like to try again. Please e-mail me to let me know the best way to reach you. John F. Dodson

Hey, John!!! Great to hear from you. I've sent you an e-mail explaining how to send me your story (and photos, I hope) and we'll all look forward to that soon. Now I'm curious about those new milestones! Karla
