After graduating from Milby I dated (Cindy Parker) another Buffalo and we were married in January, 1961. We will be celebrating our 50th anniversary next year. I attended the U of H and received a BSME in 1968. I worked for Dow Chemical in Lake Jackson, Texas for 26 years in a variety of R&D positions.
Living in Lake Jackson was a great time for our family. Our kids were involved in sports, church, and school activities and we made many lifetime friends. Cindy had always had the desire to become a nurse, which she accomplished after attending nursing school in Galveston in the 70’s. She worked for BISD and Visiting Nurses.
In 1994 I retired from Dow and went to work for Merichem Company in Mergers and Acquisitions until 2002. Both companies gave us a chance to travel together quite a bit which we still enjoy doing.
In 2005, we moved to Bentwater on Lake Conroe. This move was motivated to get away from hurricanes and mosquitoes. Bentwater is in between children and grandkids. We have two children, a son and daughter and 4 grandsons ages 4, 7, 9, and 23 living in West University and College Station. All the grand boys enjoy visiting Gram and Gramps at Bentwater.
We both play golf. Bentwater has 2 courses and gives us plenty of time to play with other couples. I play with the men’s golf group on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and in the MGA on Thursday. Cindy plays Bridge and also attends a Beth Moore Bible study. We have made a lot of new friends since our move but have also retained all of our lifelong friendships.
Immediately after this reunion we are leaving on a transatlantic cruise and a land tour of Italy. We’ll be back in the states on May 7th.
We’re looking forward to seeing many old friends at the reunion and hope everyone will be around for our 55th. Sorry we don’t have any pictures to send but have all the others.

Dear Cindy and Chuck:
Congratulations on your recent (Jan 2011) 50th wedding anniversary!! My brother and his wife just celebrated theirs this past weekend in Austin, which Tommy and I were able to attend. It was on a Lake Austin party boat and 40 friends and relatives cruised around Lake Austin for about 2 plus hours Sat evening. Dinner on board and lots of memories. Hope yours in January was just as memorable for you and your dear ones. Y'all have to be one of the best looking couples EVER.
Sincerely, Linda Hocher Bennett
