Donald Hannsz

Donald has not yet submitted a full-scale biography, but he promised to do so soon. In the meantime, his comment dated 08/01/08 has a lot of good biographical information, so I thought I would publish it here.

Donald wrote:

Well, this is my first time on the "blog"! John Echoff has been hounding the devil out of me to get on here...so here I am. I'm living in Seabrook, TX with my wife Susan (she's from Virginia and just retired from American Airlines after 43 years as a Flight Attendant).

We have a son, Donald...but he's not a "Jr."...different middle names, who is a 3rd Class Engineman in the Navy and is currently stationed at the Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 2004. He is in a Mobile Maritime Security Squadron (they use 34ft Ridgid Hull Inflatible boats powered with two Cummins Diesel engines with 3-50 cal. machine guns mounted fore and aft) which protect our national assets (such as Naval ships and Naval support vessels) to prevent another USS Cole incident. He will be shipping out shortly for seven months overseas (I'll leave the destination to your imagination...remember..."loose lips sink ships"). Please keep him, his shipmates, and all of our Military Service Personnel everywhere in your prayers.

Well, since I'm about to retire for the night and also from my job with United Space Alliance supporting the International Space Station as a contractor...I'll sign off for tonight! I'll be back, later!

P.S. See John, I told you I'd get on here!!!

Glad to hear you are still around.
Can't tell you how many times I would e-mail you, thinking you were on line and it was always your son. Tell him hello for me. And as usual, you were always above us in school with your awards and certainly working with the space station shows you are still ahead and above us, lol
