March 16, 2010, New bio material from Ken and Carole Corey (previously submitted material follows)
My wife Carole and I are now living in Livingston, Texas, although in the 33 years of our marriage we have previously lived in Houston; Alexandria, VA; and Skopje, Macedonia. [Click here to view photos and read narrative of our Macedonian adventure.]
My parents are both deceased. Carole's mom is 90, widowed, and lives in Houston. Our four children and their spouses are: Pauline/David, Christine/David, Rhonda/Chris, and Ronnie/Mindy (fiancé). We have 6 grandchildren: Daniel, Sydney, Kylie, Chelsea, Wynn, and Miranda.
I retired in April 2009 from KBR, where I worked as a structural engineer and an architect. My most notable assignments were Design Manager of the DFW Airport's Automated People Mover and Design Manager of the U.S. Embassy in Skopje, Macedonia.
I love to fish, ski (especially with the grandkids), and building things. Right now I am adding a larger scrapbook room and study to our home. [click photos to enlarge]
Carole and I are both very involved with church activities at First Baptist Church of Livingston, where I serve as a Deacon and am responsible for hospital visits and homebound members. I frequently teach at the church. We are currently searching for a new pastor and I serve on the Pastor Search Committee.
We travelled so much on the job that we have enjoyed staying home this past year since retiring, other than a trip to Utah in October 2009. We anticipate travelling again... although the destinations will be of our own choosing from now on.
We are loving retirement and would enjoy renewing acquaintances with Milby classmates.
Ken and Carole Corey
On April 25th, 2009, Carole Corey gave Ken a great Retirement Celebration in Livingston, Texas. Elsewhere on the blog (on this bio page and in the "Our Man in Macedonia" photo album - Click here), you can read more about the construction work Ken has managed in the US and abroad.
Charles and Dolly Crider (below) joined Ken and Carole for the celebration. Charles and Ken went through school together, starting at Park Place Elementary.
Ray Prichard was at the Retirement Celebration also.
Ken's earlier biographical sketch follows.

Ken writes: I am working for KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root) as Technical Director for PM/CM (Project Management/ Construction Management). I had planned to retire March 1, 2008, but was convinced to stay on 3 days a week. I'm enjoying the part-time position and am still doing a little traveling here and there. There is a possibility that we'll be heading to Australia for a month and are looking forward to that.
Carole (a retired Realtor) and I have been married 31 years and have four children, six grandchildren (3-17), and one Shih Tzu puppy, Muffin. We live in our retirement home on the water in Livingston, Texas, and particularly enjoy boating and fishing. We're very involved in our church here, First Baptist Livingston, where I am a deacon.
Ken and Carole were featured earlier on the blog with a photo album entitled "Our Man in Macedonia". That album has beautiful photographs and a wonderful narrative of the time they spent living in that part of the world. Be sure to check it out (midway down the right sidebar) if you have not already done so.
