Laura sent some lovely photos today, March 23, 2009. We are in the process of communicating so I can get more information to build a biography page for Laura. In the meantime, check out the photos along with this bit of narrative. Watch for more in the next week or so.

"I have attached just a few pictures that I have of either Loyd and me, or some Wild flowers, and a picture of my Youngest (Dyanna Wilson) and Eldest (Neita Ryan) Daughters at an Event held at their Make-up shop that is located on Kirby, and a son-in-law (lt. Col. Robert M. Reese) currently serving a year's tour in Qatar. Taking wildflower pictures is a favorite past-time of mine, and Loyd is very sweet to stop by the wayside whenever I say, “I want another picture”. I keep thinking I will make an album someday." [A Spring 2009 Photo Album is being created on the blog. It will feature some of Laura's beautiful flower photographs. Watch for it in the next few days. Karla]

And here's the whole Wilson Family.
Here are several comments that Laura made on the blog earlier. From these you can glean a bit more information about Laura.
On the "Vehicles We Have Known and Loved" post, Laura added her car memory. Said she, “ I was just talking to my husband, Loyd, the other day about the long walks I took from Milby home to Meadowbrook, past the Wagon Wheel, and through the park there at Park Place, across a bridge that is no longer there . . . I walked until my senior year, when in a fit of temper, after having yet another round of hard-to-start episodes, Loyd backed his Baby Blue '50 Model Ford into my driveway and said (with some expletives), "you can have it". Pat Roberson and I rode to school every day in it from that point on, and it never gave me the problems it had given him. (Consequently, every car since obviously belongs to me since most were traded in on newer models thereafter.)
Laura wrote this report on Thursday evening, 09/18/08, just after Hurricane Ike: “Hi everyone! We sustained very little damage at our home in Pearland. Just a few very small limbs out of our trees, and debris from the neighbors’ trees. No damage to our home. We hunkered down at home during the storm, and afterward, with power out, moved into our Travel Trailer in our drive and used a small generator sparingly to keep our food good, and ourselves comfortable. We got power back Tuesday evening, and were able to comfortably move back into our home that evening. We have had a few house guests, one of which still cannot go home.
We feel very fortunate indeed. My office in League City had access to our offices and we were back at work on Tuesday by noon. I run an Insurance Agency and also manage the Insurance Division for the Parent Corporation, so have had our hands rather full. Hope others fared as well.
Good Luck to All. Laura (Striegler) Wilson”
Laura added another thought Friday PM (9/19/08)…”By the way, anyone living in a Manufactured Home, I have some contacts for replacement homes where necessary (both MH and Modular). Regards, Laura”

Hey Laura, good hearing from you through the blog. We still need to see each other other than the reunions. I know we live across the world from each other but we still need to get together again. Good to see you and Loyd looking so good. Enjoyed the times we have had together and looking forward to getting together again.

Wish I had the free time to get together with friends in-between the reunions, and maybe one day, if I ever decide to retire, I will have it. Loyd and I are anxiously awaiting the time when we see everyone at the 50th. We also will be celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary this Summer on 7-30-2010 and hope to take a European Cruise to celebrate.
