I have been communicating with Wally Sisk about a project he has been working on at Milby. (FYI - Wally's titles at Milby are Journalism Teacher and Publications Adviser. This is his 8th year on staff at Milby after a 35 year career in the private sector.) He has recently been incorporating excerpts from the Milby 1960 Blog into the Special Fall/Holiday '08 issue of "The Blue and Gold" campus newspaper.
Click here to see the entire issue of the Milby Blue and Gold Newspaper online.
There were several pages devoted to Milby Veteran's Day activities and the back page was almost completely devoted to our class blog material. Here is a closeup view of the lead and first article, which was written by Doris Lentz Simmons. (click once on photo to enlarge type, again to enlarge more)
Wally was sorry he could not use all of the material on our Veteran's Day Essay page, but I appreciate so much that he used our work at all. I am moved to think that the Milbyites of 2008 might be exposed to our thoughts and perhaps be interested to read them. Thank you, Wally, for representing us so well.
Here are enlargements of the other 4 excerpts that Wally used. Again, click on each article to enlarge - hopefully you will be able to read them that way. If not, click here to link to the articles on this blog for larger print and to read them in their entirety.

Thanks, Wally, for sending me the copy of this newspaper so I could put it here on the blog. Classmates, please add your comments on this topic to stimulate our thinking.
