A Message from Minda

[Eliza (Alice) Contreras DeLeon sent the following information by e-mail. She is working with Minda Gomez Dominguez in the Milby Hispanic Alumni Association . Karla]

Received the postcard with 1960 reunion notice. Thanks to all the volunteering committee members who will make our reunion a success. I am the event coordinator for the Milby Hispanic Alumni and I will certainly encourage our group and maybe some of the ‘59 & '61 graduates to attend. Just to let you know, this will be the 20th year of the Milby Hispanic Alumni Association group raising funds for eager, low income student scholarships. Thanks to members of the 1960 group for their contributions last year and for the P.R. regarding our golf fundraiser. We welcome any players. I am giving Karla some information to put on the Milby 1960 Blog. Please share. Thanks. "THE SPIRIT CONTINUES"

I got this e-mail from Eliza (Alice) Contreras this AM, in response to my request for info and photos (see previous comment)

Hi,
It turned our very good. We were happy, no rain. It was sunny and very windy at times, but all 71 participants said they enjoyed it. Minda Gomez Dominguez and Sylvia Gabino Rivera - both class of '60 - played, but we had a lot of volunteer alums. Our goal this year is to give $20,000 in scholarships to Milby students and we are close. We do have some terrific pics. As soon as we receive them, I will forward. Thanks for asking. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!! Eliza
