I) Karla on a Camel at Giza

Have you ever ridden a camel? Well, if not, let me assure you there is simply nothing like it. Of course, you probably know that the camel kneels as close to the ground as possible while you mount. That's not close enough!!! It's quite a climb onto that precarious "saddle".

Then the real fun begins as the camel rises - first in the back - as you pitch forward, and then in the front - as you pitch backwards. And THEN, the camel is prodded and poked by his keeper into a rhythmic locomotion that is certain to provoke fear and nausea in even the hardiest of travelers.

Most of this is for show and to give the tourist another "experience", and it was fine with me that after a short walkabout I was allowed to dismount - in similar fashion to the beginning of my story. Glad they took a picture!!!
